The duration of your hair transplant will depend on the number of grafts needed for a full head of hair. Minor procedures may be completed in a matter of 3-4 hours, while larger procedures may last up to 6-7 hours. During a procedure, clients can watch TV, listen to music, or read a magazine. You may also take breaks throughout a hair transplant.

A hair transplant extracts healthy hair follicles from the ‘permanent donor area’ of the scalp. It then places them in a ‘temporary recipient area’ that is losing hair. It is done under local anaesthetic. A surgeon and two technicians, who support the surgeon, perform it.

Patients will spend the first period of the day face-down. A surgeon will remove hair follicles with a microscopic, electric punch. They then spend the second part of the day face up.
